Three Ways to Build A Wooden Mallet
I think I had more fun building these mallets than I have building anything in awhile. It was so enjoyable to just create. I wanted to build a wooden mallet and make them unique. I started by ordering purple heart wood, ambrosia maple and birdseye maple from Woodcraft.com. Building a DIY mallet is a great woodworking project for beginners but that doesn’t mean they can’t be beautiful.
I set my mind into a creative groove and started building. The coin idea came to me when I was trying to think of something unique to do with a mallet. Brother Riv (see the Wahuda unboxing video) sent me a 10 Commandments coin. I thought it would be awesome to embed that coin into a mallet. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the exact size forstner bit that I needed, so the hole is a little oversized on that coin. However, I did have a Relentless Defender coin that is exactly 2” in diameter and I was able to buy a 2” bit.
What’s amazing about the law enforcement coin was I really had no intentions in mind with the mallet. Little did I know, God was about to move. I posted a few pictures on Instagram of the completed mallet. The coin has the fallen officer’s names from 2019 on the back. Out of 94 million Instagram posts that day, the brother of one of the officers saw the post. It’s really amazing. I believe God moved there so that I could present this mallet to his family. Watch the video below for the whole story. Just amazing!
