Staining and Finishing Tips and Tricks

See this content in the original post

I have used trial and error to get to where I am with my staining and more importantly, my finishing.  Staining isn't that difficult if you follow the instructions.  Finishing, or clear coating, on the other hand is a whole other beast.  If not done correctly it can ruin your project.   Using the correct supplies can make all the difference in the world.  A good quality brush is a must.  After using several different products I have finally settled on General Finishes High Performance Top Coat water based finish as my go to clear coat.  It is the easiest to work with and produces the best quality finish for me.  It is so smooth to the touch when it dries. It produces a furniture store quality finish for me and that’s why I love it.  Check out some to the pictures below of my pieces that I have used the General Finishes clear coat.
