How to Build a DIY Dog Bed
Let me show you how to build a DIY dog bed. Building a dog bed for your puppy is easy. A DIY dog bed like this requires just a few supplies and a couple simple tools. All you need is one 2x2x8' and two 1x6x8's. Follow this video tutorial as a guide to build your own dog bed. We took a common dog bed you can buy most anywhere and built a frame to fit it. You may need to adjust the size of the frame to fit your dog bed depending on the size of your pup. This is a DIY Dog bed for a small dog. However, you can build a DIY dog bed for a large dog using the same methods, just adjust the sizes accordingly. This bed frame is built to fit a dog bed that is approximately 24" x 21". Anything that is close to that size (1" give or take) will fit in this frame. We inset our dog mattress into theis dog bed frame 3". You can inset yours deeper if you wish to have less of the dog bed sticking out. This can also work as a diy cat bed if your kitty cat likes to lounge in a soft dog bed like these. This is a simple dog bed that anyone can build with simple tools and techniques. Check out the links below for bed inserts, tools and supplies used in this build.
The plush dog bed mattress we used for this build was an Urbane Pets brand 24" x 20". You can get on similar to mine using the links below:
